Eugene Drusch

Eugene J Drusch was born on December 9, 1936 to William and Matrona (Zimmermann) Drusch in Morgan, MN. He attended Morgan High School and lived in Morgan until moving to Springfield in 1962. Gene served in the National Guard from 1959-1963. On October 12, 1963, Gene married Rita Mathiowetz at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. The couple lived in Springfield throughout their married life, except from 1968-1972 when they lived in Sanborn. He was a carpenter and also did construction work which was his work and his hobby. Gene remodeled the Assembly of God Church into their home as well as built another home for their family. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Eugene died on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 78 years. He is survived by his wife Rita Drusch of Springfield; son Brian Drusch and special friend Tammy of Sioux Falls; brother Lyle (Joan) Drusch of Morgan; sisters - Caroline Klinenberg of Walla Walla, WA, Lucille (Dean) Christensen of Seattle, WA. Gene was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, brother-in-law John Klinenberg, and a nephew - Todd Christensen.
