Ethel Wettestad

December 16, 1916 — April 3, 2006

Ethel Vivian Tenney was born December 16, 1916 at Triumph, MN to parents Earl and Clara (Turner) Tenney. She was a confirmed member of Long lake Lutheran Church, a member of the Long Lake Ladies Aide and the Sarah Circle. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1935, attended nurses aide training and was employed for many years at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James. She lived in rural St. James for thirty years before moving into town. She has lived in Madelia since 1994. She married Sanford Wettestad on November 30, 1939 at Comfrey. Ethel enjoyed sewing, reading, working puzzles and was an avid doll collector. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters. Grateful for having shared her life are her son Jim (Fonda) Wettestad of Ankeny, IA, daughters Sandra (John) Myklebust of Pasadena,CA, Bonnie (David) Offerdahl of Warminster, PA, Stephanie (Jim) Sherman of Ft. Meade, SD, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
