Esther Wiebe

Esther Wiebe was born on September 24, 1913, to Peter and Anna (Faust) Goertzen in Bingham Lake, MN. She moved to Delft with her parents, where she grew to adulthood. On May 24, 1931, Esther was baptized at the Immanuel Mennonite Church in Delft upon confession of her faith in Christby Rev. D.P. Eytzen, and she remained a faithful member all her life. She married Clarence L. Wiebe on February 25, 1937. The lived and farmed by Mountain Lake and south of Delft. They purchased a gas station in Delft and worked together, Mom did thebookkeeping, and Dad delivered the fuel. Clarence passed away on January 13, 1965. Mom operated the station with the help of Thorval and hired help until it was sold to Windom Co-op. She worked at various jobs in Mountain Lake and Windom until she retired. Mom loved her family, and she helped us a lot when our children were small. She also loved her flowers, yard and quilting. She made many quilts for her children and grandchildren. She supported the Bible of the Month Club for many years. Shefaithfully prayed for her children and grandchildren every day. Esther is survived by her three children, Janet and her husband Marlyn Bartsch of Windom, MN, Marilyn Bartsch of Delft, MN, and Thorval and wife Georgette Wiebe of Marshall, MN; 14 grandchildren, Scott, Shelly, Cary, Brent, Douglas, Beverly and Terry Bartsch, Jamie Koenen, Judy Winker, Jennifer Kramer, Christopher Wiebe, Stacy Anderson, Stacey Rubertus and Michael Belker; a sister, Myrtle Courts of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters-in-law, Minnie Goertzen of Mountain Lake, MN, Wilma Goertzen of St. Paul, MN,and Ellyn Goertzen of Fairbault, MN; a brother-in-law, Paul Bradley of Bingham Lake, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Wiebe; three sisters, Lillian Bradley, Jenny Voth and Alice Wile; four brothers, her twin Arthur in infancy, Ervin, Richard and Virgil Goertzen; a grandson, Cory Lee Bartsch; and a brother-in-law, Ervin Voth.
