Esther Anderson

Esther B. Anderson was born November 29, 1916, in Highwater Township, Cottonwood County, the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Nordmann) Bierman. She graduated from Lamberton High School and Mankato Commercial Club. Esther worked in the State Bank of Jeffers and the Farmers Merchants State Bank in Lamberton before her marriage to Ralph Anderson on April 11, 1943, in Walnut Grove. She was a life-long resident of the Lamberton area and a 63 year member of the Lamberton Reading Club where she held many offices. Esther was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where she attended and taught Bethel classes, taught Sunday School and participated in Ladies Aid. Her many hobbies included reading, knitting, playing bridge, working in her rose garden and, of course, following the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. Esther's greatest love was her family, her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by many, but most of all by her children and grandchildren. Esther Anderson died peacefully on May 16, 2006, at Valley View Manor at the age of 89 years. Surviving Esther are sons- John (Judy) Anderson of Atlanta, GA and Paul (Janice) Anderson of Memphis, TN; daughter- Mary (Bob) Bohn of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and six grandchildren- Jeffrey Anderson, David Anderson, Andrew Bohn, Molly (Zach) Lee, Allison Bohn and Erin Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband- Ralph; daughter- Judith; great grandson- Christian; parents; and all of her siblings.
