Erwin Earl Schuldheisz

Erwin Earl Schuldheisz was born in Kulm, ND on October 3, 1926 to Daniel and Ida Schuldheisz. Erwin graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1949 with a B.S. degree in History and Social Studies and a Master's in Education in 1954. Erwin taught social studies in Wales, ND and Larimore, ND before working as an educator of social studies at the Madelia High School for 35 years. Erwin also served with the United States Navy from 1945-1946. Erwin was married to Jual Hurtt on June 8, 1950 in Park River, ND. Erwin enjoyed watching sports in his free time, and was a fan of the MN Twins Baseball team and the MN Gophers. He also enjoyed studying meteorology, keeping up with current events, caring for his Cairn Terrier dogs and family trips to the MN North Shore. Erwin's most cherished times were those spent with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and talking to his former students. Erwin E. Schuldheisz age 89, of Madelia, MN died on July 23, 2016, at Oak Lawn Nursing Home in Mankato. Erwin is survived by his children, Susan (Brad) Krenik of Collierville, TN, Kay (Tim) Peterson of Madelia, MN, Nancy (David) Stordahl of Menomonie, WI, Mark Schuldheisz of Mankato, MN; brother, Russell (Ardelle) Schuldheisz of Brainerd, MN; 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jual Schuldheisz in 2008; infant great-granddaughter, Jual De Vos in 2015; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
