In 1936 they returned to Mountain Lake. Ervin served in the CPS during WWII. He married Rosella Regehr on September 9, 1942 at Bethel Mennonite Church. The couple lived in Iowa and New Jersey for a short time and then made their home in Mountain Lake where Ervin worked for Nickel Construction for several years. Ervin was a member of the First Mennonite Church and later the Alliance Missionary church.
