Ervin Gilbert Lendt, the son of Arthur and Leona (Petermann) Lendt, was born on May 26, 1943 in Sleepy Eye, MN. He graduated from Sleepy Eye High School, served in the military, worked for Steinke-Siedl Building Center, Jerry Wiess Construction, and was looking forward to retiring after 21 years of service at Norwood Promotional Products. On May 11, 1973, Ervin was united in marriage to Rosemary Anne Hinkel at Brookings, SD. Ervin accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of New Ulm, MN, serving as deacon, financial secretary, and maintenance man. Ervin enjoyed helping others with his craftsmanship, carpentry, and construction. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports, gardening, and spending time with his family. Ervin Gilbert Lendt, age 64, died unexpectedly on September 21, 2007 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Rosemary Lendt of Sleepy Eye; their children, Todd (Terrie) Lendt of Marshall, MN, Matthew (Ellen) Lendt of Anoka, MN, Joy (Andy) Okerman of Fairmont, MN, and Holly (Micah) Schroeder of Bayport, MN; twelve grandchildren; siblings, Arno (Orpha) Lendt of Sleepy Eye, Vernelda (Skip) Edwards of Mankato, MN, Arleen (Herb) Engelbrechet of St. James, MN, and Charles (LeAnn) Lendt of Sleepy Eye; mother-in-law, Dorothy Moeller of Sleepy Eye; sister-in-law, Gayle Hillesheim of Sleepy Eye; many nieces and nephews, and others. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Leona Lendt; and father-in-law, Vincent Moeller.
