Ervin F. Gramentz, age 72, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota died on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Sleepy Eye Medical Center. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye and will continue on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church. A funeral service will be held at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Pastor Michael Baker. Interment will be at Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Ervin Freddie Gramentz, one of six children of Erwin and Eleanora (Franke) Gramentz, was born on July 6, 1953, at Union Hospital in New Ulm, Minnesota. He grew up in Sleepy Eye and attended Sleepy Eye Public School. Upon his graduation, Ervin worked at Och's Brick and Tile in Springfield followed by MRCI in New Ulm as well as many other places in New Ulm. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye. He liked collecting matchbox cars and diecast big cars.
He is survived by his sisters, Maryann and Patsyann Gramentz; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Kosbab; special children, Ryan, Camryn, Aubree, and Mallory Maher, Ashley, Cole, Nicole, Karlynn, and Casen Churchill, Braylen Braulick, Jason and Sandy Maher, Brittany Thoms, Jasmyne Windschitl, Joey Lee, Paige Thoms, Jeana and Josh Beach, Jamie Vanoverback, and Jared Spaeth and family; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Eleanora; siblings, Steven, Sandra, and Diane; grandparents, Albert and Annie Franke and William and Alvina Gramentz; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
