Ervin Finger, age 75, of St. James, died at his home on Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Ervin Leroy Finger was born in Comfrey, MN, on October 20, 1934, the son of Benjeman Mary (Fisk) Finger. He grew up in the Comfrey and Jeffers areas. Ervin joined the Army and received his GED while serving his Country. Upon completion of his military tour he worked in South Dakota as a veterinarian assistant. On September 13, 1966 he married Dorothy Goff in Rapid City, SD. The couple moved to St. James where Ervin worked at Tony Downs for many years before going to work for the school district as a janitor. Ervin was a kind -hearted, strong, forgiving grandpa. He loved spending time with his family, friends and dog. Ervin enjoyed camping and fishing. He and the dog spent most of his free time fishing. He loved to tell his fishing stories. Ervin also a good friend and neighbor always ready and willing to help out with odd jobs. Ervin will be missed by his family dearly. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Finger of Billings, MT, sons, Lloyd and LeRoy both of St. James, Benjamin (Kathy) Finger of Waseca, daughter, Darlene (Duane) Meyer of New Ulm, grandchildren, Wayne, Tiffany and Rylie and several nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by a daughter Linda, his parents, and 2 brothers.
