Erva Adele Haynes

Erva Adele Haynes age 90, of Madelia, MN, died on August 30, 2024, at Living Meadows Nursing Home in Madelia.

Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church-Madelia, on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm.  Visitation will take place at the church from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm.

The clergy will be Rev. Janet Adams. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Madelia.

Erva Adele Haynes was born in Linden Township, MN on the family farm to Edward and Annie (Hustoft) Mickelson on May 26, 1934.  She attended District 37 country school, attended Hanska school in 8th grade and New Ulm Public school from 9th-12th.  Erva graduated from New Ulm High School in 1952.  She married Verne Glenn Haynes on March 15th, 1953.  The couple raised their 5 children in Madelia and for many years Erva worked for the Madelia Public School.  In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on puzzles, fishing, embroidery, walking, watching Wheel of Fortune and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan.

Erva is survived by her children, Gene (Annette) Haynes, Brad (Amy) Haynes, Jim (Sommer) Haynes, Lori (Paul) Helling, Julie (Kevin) Hannan; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Verne Haynes; sisters, Myrtle Johnson, Audrey Emmerich, and brother, Palmer Mickelson.
