Erna Lendt

Erna Marie Engholm was born on August 27, 1909 in Ft. Dodge, IA the daughter of Henry Anna (Becker) Engholm. She grew up in Iowa, later moving to Texas for a short time, returning to Iowa and then moved with her family to Sleepy Eye, MN in 1921. She married Marvin J. Lend on September 8, 1931 in Sleepy Eye. The couple lived and farmed in Stark Township near Sleepy Eye until retiring. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church andthe Ladies of Grace, in Sleepy Eye. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting, sewing. playing cards and gardening. She also enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Survivors include her sons, Armin wife Leona of Sleepy Eye, Melvin wife Lois of Sleepy Eye, 5 grandchildren, Ricky, Randy and David Lendt, Linda Wenner and Laurie Scherer, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers, Elmer wife Florence Engholm, Edwin wife Minnie Engholm and Ivan wife Mava Engholm and sister, Lucille Laube, all of Morgan. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Katherine Engholm, brothers, Orville Engholm, Waldo wife Doris Engholm, brother-in-law, Harold Laube, andgranddaughters Judy and Julie..
