Erland Abraham Braun, age 74, died on November 21, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Society - Saint James, MN.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November, 25, 2025, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Sturm Funeral Home - Mountain Lake.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Sturm Funeral Home - Mountain Lake on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 10:00am with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at the First Mennonite Cemetery - in rural Butterfield.

Erland Abraham Braun was born on July 27, 1951 to Henry and Helen (Penner) Braun in York, NE. Erland lived in Henderson, NE until he was 1.5 years old when he moved to Mountain Lake, MN. Erland received his education at Mountain Lake Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1969. After graduation, he attended Vocational College in Pipestone, MN, where he received his AA degree in 1972. He then started his lifelong career at Toro in Windom where he worked until his retirement in 2005. Erland met the love of his life, Betty Allen and the two were married on September 9, 1972. This marriage blessed them with 5 children: Angela, Amy Lori, Bradley and Lynn.
In his retirement, Erland kept busy volunteering with Care and Share, Mountain Lake Food Shelf, Heritage Village, Lions Club and the Jaycees. In his free time, Erland loved collecting pens and pencils, gardening, watching his favorite teams: the University of Nebraska Corn Huskers, Baseball, Vikings Football and Mountain Lake High School. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to all their school activities.
Erland is survived by his wife, Betty Braun of St. James; children, Angela Braun (One Xayanourom) of Mtn Lake, Amy Braun of Belle Plaine, Lori (Toun) Soutthivong of Mtn Lake, Brad (Amanda) Braun of Belleview, NE, Lynn Braun of Mankato; grandchildren, Lounee (Daniel) Minor of Louisville, KY, Brianna (Stefan) Prince of Shakopee, Samuel Xayanourom of Moorhead, Jewel Soutthivong of Delray Beach, FL, Emilee Xayanourom of Inver Grove Heights, Casey Braun and Julianna Braun of Belleview, NE: great-granddaughter, Cattleya Prince of Shakopee; sister, Elmyra (Sally) Huber of Wichita, KS; several brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Helen Braun; brother, Warren Braun; parents-in-law, John and Arlene Allen; sisters-in-law, Carol Hunt, Barb Humbolt, and brother-in-law, Robert Allen.
