Emma Rempel

Emma Madeline Aden, the daughter of John and Margaret (Menssen) Aden was born on December 23, 1917, in Lincoln County, near Pochahantas, IA. She was baptized on January 20, 1918, and on July 10, 1932, she was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Darfur, MN. On January, 20, 1946, Emma was united in marriage to Oscar Englin at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in St. James, MN. They made their home and farmed in the Darfur area. Oscar died in 1970. Emma continued to live in Darfur until 1977, when shemoved to Mountain Lake where she worked at the Good Samaritan Village as a nursing assistant for 26 years. On June 23, 1978, Emma was united in marriage to Frank Rempel at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and they made their home in Mountain Lake. Frank died on September 22, 1999. Emma had a personal relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and she enjoyed sharing her faith with others. Emma enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading her Bible, fishing, bowling, and traveling to visit her family. She wasactive in her church with Mission Circle, Bible Study and Ladies Aid, and she was a member of the VFW Auxillary. Emma Rempel, age 86, of Mountain Lake, MN, died Monday, October 4, 2004, at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Emma is survived by 3 daughters, Maxine and husband Warren Pankonin of Lamberton, MN, Sandra and husband Lee McAdams of Dallas, TX, and Merlie and husband Dennis Kluver of Spokane, WA; 4 sons, Robert Rempel of Windom, MN, Allan and wife Marlys Rempel of Windom, MN, Mervin and wife Betty Rempel of Mountain Lake, MN, and Vareld and wife Joyce Englin of Garner, IA; over 100 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Joan Lauck of Coon Rapids, MN; 2 brothers,Raymond Aden of Marino Valley, CA and John and wife Sandra Aden of St. James, MN; 2 sisters, Edna Anderson and Wynona and husband Merlin Yackel all of St. James, MN; a sister-in-law, Barbara Aden of St. James, MN; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a son, Marvin Englin; a daughter, Elvona Aden; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Rempel; a grandson, Sheldon Lee Rempel; 3 brothers, Gerald, Wallace and Donald Aden; and 2 sisters, Gebka Curry and Melinda Aden.
