Elvin D. Thiessen, born 1935 in Rural Butterfield, on the Halbecker Farm to David H Thiessen and Elizabeth (Harder). He graduated from Butterfield High School in 1953. Then a short time after graduating he went into the Army, he joined the Medics. After being Honorably discharged from the Army he later married Phylis Viola Rathman the marriage produced 1 child. Mike. He Continued farming and milking cows. His hobby he enjoyed most was flying his planes,going to Oshkosh Wisconsin and fly in breakfasts. In 1976 with Jack Mackey from Jackson Mn. He flew to the artic Circle. He also would go on trips to a Mennonite Colony in Belize and go on road trips with his motorcycle. He loved to travel.

Elvin D Thiessen is survived by his son, Mike (Robin) Thiessen, Butterfield, his 5 Grandchildren, Sirena (Cody) Axford Mt. Lake, Mn. Quinton (Destiny) Thiessen, Avery (Elizabeth) Thiessen, Terrell Thiessen, Landon Thiessen both Butterfield Mn. 11 Great grandchildren: Avah, Emma, Hunter, Eden, Jackson, Ellie, Forrest, Archer Axford. Brody, Serenity, and Azriel Thiessen.
