Elva Elg

October 24, 1937 — February 16, 2009

Elva Ida Elg was born in Wenatchee, WA, the daughter of August and Ida (Lanney) Kamolz. She moved with her family to Springfield when she was an infant. She attended country school and lived with her parents in Comfrey. Before marriage, she worked as a waitress in Comfrey. She was united in marriage to Gunard Elg on October 24, 1937 in Comfrey. Elva worked as a cook at the Comfrey Public School and managed the Bakery in Comfrey. Elva moved to Cottonwood Ridge in Springfield on October 15, 2001 and became a resident at St. John Lutheran Home in July of 2008. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey. Elva died on Monday, February 16, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 90 years. She is survived by her children - Charles Elg of Circle Pines, MN and Cedric and wife Barb Elg of Gilroy, CA; grandchildren - Holly and husband Larry Sanford, Jennifer Elg, Jon and wife Linda Elg, and Julie and husband Ken Drevnick; 4 great grandchildren; a sister - Agnes Schultz of Fairfax; brothers - Theodore Arndt of New Ulm and Vincent Kamolz of Comfrey; and a sister-in-law - Louise Kamolz of Woodword, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband - Gunard in October of 1979; and a brother - Walter Kamolz.
