Elton Schade

Elton Henry Schade, age 74 of Comfrey, MN, formally of Elmwood, TN passed away December 2, 2015 at Sleepy Eye Hospital after a courageous, several year battle with lung cancer. Elton was born on June 5, 1941 in Springfield, MN to parents Jasper and Fredina (Thompson) Schade. After school, he moved to Oregon and worked in an aluminum plant. He then moved to Ruthton, MN and was united in marriage to Linda Redlinger on September 1, 1962 in Lake Benton, MN. Elton worked as a commercial painting contractor and raised many breeds of dogs. He lived in Florida for a few years before settling in Elmwood, TN on a scenic hillside farm and continued raising dogs there. Elton enjoyed traveling the entire United States, visiting people and going to the Renaissance Festival. He also enjoyed making glass molds, raising flowers, playing games and puzzles, and his dog, Treasure. One of his favorite pastimes was reading any and all kinds of books. Elton was a kind, loving, caring person that was well liked by everyone who met him. He is survived by his significant other, Marcia Weber of Comfrey, daughter, Paula (Alvin) Knox of Cookeville, TN, son, Mark and special friend Elizabeth Ellston of Bozeman, Montana, son, Jason (Joy) of Elkview, West Virginia, sister, Connie (Jerry) McClune of Waseca, MN, grandchildren, Dan, Justine, Ivy, Caleb, Autumn, Sam, Jessica, Hannah and Kaitlin.
