Elois Ann Marie 'Lois' Overson

The oldest of 6 siblings, Elois was born in Nicollet County Minnesota on December 15, 1926 to Elroy and Anna (Salmonson) Johnson. She was married to Leverne C. Overson of rural St. Peter, MN and they initially settled in the Mankato area. Following her husbands graduation from Mankato State, they moved to Matawan and then Blue Earth. It was during this time that Elois gave birth to six children. Their union of over 65 years was ended by Levernes passing in 2012. While in Blue Earth Elois was initially employed by King Gas. In 1965, Leverne and Elois purchased the Hage Lumber Company in St. James MN. The family lumber business then expanded over the years to include multiple locations in southwest MN. Elois was a longtime member of Augustana Lutheran Church as well as a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and sponsor of Jobs Daughters. In addition to these various groups, Lois lifelong passions included golf, bridge, gardening, traveling, and entertaining family and friends in MN and AZ. She will forever be remembered for her devotion to family. Elois "Lois" Overson age 92, of Saint James, Minnesota died on February 28, 2019 in Mesa, Arizona. Elois is survived by sons, Lanny (Emma) of St. James, MN, Lowell (Kathryn) of Mantorville, MN, Larry (Lisa) of Kennewick, WA and daughter Lynda of Mesa AZ; daughters-in-law, Mary Overson of St. James and Deborah Overson of Mesa, AZ; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 sister and a brother.
