Elmer Victor Roadfeldt was born July 12, 1916, at his parent's log home near Salol, MN, the son of John and Alma (Nillson) Roadfeldt. He graduated from Roseau High School and served as class president, participated on the track team, and was on the Debate Team that went to the state finals. In the 1930's, Elmer went to Minneapolis and worked at Booth Cold Storage and Hart Carter. On April 12, 1941, he was united in marriage to Olive Sawvell in Chippewa Falls, WI. In 1945, the couple purchased a hardware store in Clements and Elmer did electrical work. They moved to Lucan in 1952 and operated a hardware store. In 1963, they moved to Lamberton where Elmer operated his own electrical contracting business. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and served on the church council for many years. Elmer was also a member of the Commercial Club, the Lions Club and Lamberton Industries. He enjoyed square-dancing, fishing, deer hunting, reading and spending time in his workshop. He also enjoyed perfecting his Swedish and Spanish language skills. Elmer Victor Roadfeldt died Monday, June 12, 2006, at the Springfield Medical Center at the age of 89 years. Survivors include wife- Olive of Lamberton; daughters- Pamela and husband Daniel Wilkens of Fertile, MN, and Judith and husband Denis Dolan of Cedar Falls, IA; son- Richard and wife Ronda Roadfeldt of Chandler, AZ; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; extended family- Cathy and Jason Kedl and family of Lamberton, Robin and Eldon Pape and family of Sanborn, and Eddie and Donna Yackel and family of Darcut, MA. He is also survived by brother- George Roadfeldt of Robbinsdale, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers- Harold, Edgar, Robert, Clarence and Morris; and sister- Eunice Mundt.
