Elma Wolf

Elma Wolf, age 93, of Mountain Lake, Minnesota passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, at Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake.

Elma (Peters) Wolf was born on September 10, 1930 in Mountain Lake, MN to Herman P. Peters and Elizabeth (Baer) Peters. She was the seventh of eight children.  Elma spoke only German at home until she started elementary school and she always said she was often embarrassed at school because she had homemade bread in her lunch.  The well-to-do kids had store bought bread. During her high school years and after graduation, she worked at Bill’s cafe in downtown Mountain Lake. Here she met her future husband, Nick Wolf. They were married on February 25, 1949. Elma loved being a housewife and they had one daughter, Debra.

Elma enjoyed sewing and needlework, cooking and baking, and keeping her house neat and clean. According to her family, her zweibach were the best. Elma and Nick were charter member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mountain Lake. She very much enjoyed serving her church in any way she could. Her greatest joy was her two granddaughters, Katie and Mari. She provided many hours of free daycare for them and lots of time letting them “dirty up” her house with things like pumpkin carving and egg decorating. Nick died on September 4, 1996.

Elma is survived by her daughter, Debra Kremmin; granddaughters Kathryn Kremmin and Mariela Kremmin; sister-in-law, Evelyn Peters and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Nick, her husband of 47 years; sisters, Olga Harder, Almada Quiring; brothers, Herman, Waldo, Lawrence, Clarence, and Arnold Peters.
