Ella Sturm

Christian Mothers Rosary scheduled at 4pm on Monday at the funeral home. Ella died at the Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center in St. James on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the age of 92 years. Ella Mae Barge was born October 22, 1915 in South Branch Township to Walter and Mary (Klutz) Barge. Ella was raised and attended school in rural St. James. On November 26, 1935 she was united in marriage to John A. Sturm. The couple made their home on the family farm in St. James Township where they continued to live until retirement in 1971. John and Ella moved into St. James in 1973 and Ella had lived at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Center since March 2000. She became known as the good will ambassador at Pleasant View. Ella was a long time member of St. James Catholic Church, member of St. Agnes CCW and a 50 year member of Catholic Order of Foresters. Ella enjoyed cooking, baking, embroidery, gardening, was an avid calendar note keeper, and took great pleasure in the time spent with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ella was preceded in death by her husband John in 1993, parents Walter Mary Barge, sisters- Elizabeth Ayres, Edith Asendorf, Hazel Marsden, great-grandson Jack Schroeder, son-in-law Al Warmka, and a step-great-grandson David Schrader. She is survived by her children and their spouses Darlene Joe Trio of Easton, Ron Sharon Sturm of Springfield, Dennis Jan Sturm of St. James, Gary Joyce Sturm of St. James, 8 grandchildren and their spouses Mark Kate Warmka of Easton, Connie Baune of Lakeville, Amy Brian Schroeder of Maple Grove, Sara Eric Gronholz of Alexandria, Katie Chad Perry of Alexandria, Michelle Sturm of Mankato, Lisa Duane Buck of St. Paul, Jennifer (Jay) Lonnie Stresemann of St. James, 10 great-grandchildren Amanda Sara Warmka, Jenna Kyle Baune, Ben McKenna Schroeder, Emma Gronholz, Maya Perry, Alex Nolan Stresemann, 7 step-grandchildren Marie Jeff Schrader, Donna Mark Sonnek, Janet Jeff Phillips, Sharon Randy Kroenke, Mary Bruce Woitas, Tom Deb Trio, Gary Deb Trio, 25 step-great-grandchildren, 3 step-great-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Martha Sturm of St. James, Lorraine Sturm of St. James, Mildred Dick of Madelia and brother-in-law and spouse Ervin Margaret Sturm of Fairmont.
