Elizabeth 'Betty' Henrietta Hagert was born September 2, 1919 in Bowdon, ND to Otto and Effie (Allen) Darkow. The family moved to Wanda, MN when Elizabeth was 17. She was united in marriage to Andrew Hagert, Jr. on December 21, 1938 in Redwood Falls. The couple resided in Springfield and Elizabeth entered St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield in September of 2011. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church and the CCW. Elizabeth was a former member of the Federation Group and Women of Today. Elizabeth Hagert died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Home at the age of 95 years. She is survived by daughters- Donna Grabow of Springfield, and Norma Hagert of Redwood Falls; daughter-in-law Betty Hagert of Springfield; sister-in-law Gladys Darkow of Lamberton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Andrew; sons- LeRoy and Timmy; grandson Terry Hagert; daughter-in-law Sharon Hagert; son-in-law Walter Grabow; and brothers and sisters- John, Albert, Mable, Ferdinand 'Shorty', Herman, Theodore 'Ted', Arnold 'Bud', Jeanette, Paul, August, and Lorraine.
