Eleanor Francis Strong was born in Sleepy Eye, MN on May 5, 1935 to the late William and Frances (Riebel) Zuhlsdorf. She was the youngest girl of her family with six sisters and five brothers. Eleanor attended St. Mary's School in Sleepy Eye. Eleanor was united in marriage to Lloyd Peanuts Strong on May 9, 1956. Together they resided in Sleepy Eye and raised their four sons and one daughter. She had a great passion for flowers, her family and the great outdoors. Eleanor had the gift of a green thumb and enjoyed expressing herself through the beauty of her flowers, both indoors and outdoors. Eleanor took great pride in her children; at any given time she could tell you where each one was and what they were up to even after they were all grown. Eleanor enjoyed the great outdoors and all the beauty it had to offer. Eleanor enjoyed horses from a young age and through out her life. Along with the horses she enjoyed sitting on her swing watching the birds, especially her humming birds. Eleanor enjoyed throwing the ball for her dog Dutchess and watching her grandchildren playing on the farm. When the seasons changed keeping her indoors, Eleanor enjoyed reading, embroidery, and puzzles.
