Eleanor was born on May 22, 1926 in Comfrey, MN the daughter of Julius Anna (Kleinow) Wojahn. She grew up and attended country school near Windom and graduated from Windom High School. Eleanor later attended St. Cloud State Teachers College. She married Orlando Meyer on June 25, 1955 in Windom and the couple made their home in Sleepy Eye where Eleanor taught at the Sleepy Eye Public High School for several years. They moved to Montevideo for a short time before moving to Clarkfield for a few years.They moved to rural Sanborn where they lived and farmed for many years later moving to Lamberton in March of 2006. Eleanor was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield where she was active in the Ladies Aid, Womens Ruth Circle, Bible Study Group and the Christian Womens Club. Eleanor enjoyed gardening, crocheting, Avon, teaching playing piano, and reading. Eleanor M. (Wojahn) Meyer, age 80, of Lamberton, died on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at her home in Lamberton, MN. Survivors include her husband Orlando Meyer of Lamberton, children, Gary (Lori) Meyer of Montevideo, Glen Meyer of St. Paul and Julie Meyer of Minneapolis, two grandchildren, Drew Preston Meyer and one step-grandson Brandon Cobb, brothers, Melvin (Romelle) Wojahn of Windom, Ernest (JoAnn) Wojahn of Little Canada, Wilbur (Sandy) Wojahn Ft. Collins, CO, Orville (Janice) Wojahn of Windom, sister, Carolyn (Wes) Strausser of Welcome and sister-in-law, Sherry Wojahn of Windom. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Florence and brother, Robert.
