Eldora Jean Wolle, 85, of Saint James, died on February 20, 2025, at Generations Care in Mankato.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James and will continue on Thursday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church in Saint James. Funeral service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Saint James on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Eldora was born February 27, 1939, to Ervin and Evelyn (Sorensen) Wright in Rosendale Township, Watonwan County on the family farm. She graduated from Saint James High School in 1957. On February 14, 1959, she married Clifford Wolle at First Lutheran Church in Saint James. Together they raised 5 children, Brad, Kris, Karla, Kelly, and Brian.
Eldora worked for Ralph’s Super Valu and Scherr-Tumico in her early years and later at JC Penny’s and the nursing home in Saint James. Over the years she helped Clifford with book work and other duties on the family farm.
Eldora enjoyed volunteering and helping others. She was a 4H leader for many years, teaching children many skills, was deeply involved with First Lutheran Church, including heading the Lefsa making crew and baked many cakes and pans of bars for funerals and other events. She also had her own business, “ Eldora's Kontry Kitchen” where she made countless wedding cakes for weddings and birthday parties within the community.
In her free time, Eldora enjoyed weaving rugs, sewing, and at Christmas time, she would sing carols and read poems to her family. She especially loved time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eldora is survived by her children, Brad Wolle of Saint James, Kris Wolle of New Ulm, and Brian (Laurie) Wolle of Saint James; grandchildren, Dan (Liz), Andy (Courtney), Ryan, Katie, Karl (Jessica), Kevin, Matt (Rachel), Alissa (Daniel), Jayme (Jared), Jessica (Evan), Janelle (Justin), Devin (Olivia), Dylan, and Allison (Tallin); 29 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Eunice Wiederhoeft and Eunella “Nellie” Wright; brother, Eldon (Jolene) Wright; and sisters-in-law, Irene Wright and Joni Wright.
Eldora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford in 2021; daughters, Karla Wolle and Kelly Curry; son-in-law, Troy Curry; grandchildren, David Wolle and Nathan Nelson; sister, Elaine Panzer; brothers, Elwood Wright and Everette Wright; and brothers-in-law, Delbert Wiederhoeft and William Panzer.
