Eldon Pape

Eldon Adolph Pape was born November 4, 1949, in New Ulm, MN, the son of Adolph and Selma (Stark) Pape. He attended Sanborn Parochial School and graduated from Sanborn High School in 1967. Eldon worked at Griebel Implement and Sanborn Manufacturing before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1969. He was stationed in Germany for 15 months and was discharged in 1971. Eldon worked at Varpness Implement after returning home and was united in marriage to Robin Winseth on August 12, 1972, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lamberton. The couple moved to the family farm where Eldon farmed and worked at S S Concrete for 15 years. He opened his own farm shop in 1991. Eldon was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn and served on the Zion School Board. He was also a member of Colburn American Legion Post #286, and served as Treasurer for many years. He enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, visiting with friends, and especially enjoyed spending time with his sons. Eldon Adolph Pape died Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the Windom Area Hospital at the age of 57 years. He is survived by wife- Robin of Sanborn; sons- Jeremy and fiancee' Melissa Alberg of Brainerd, Justin and special friend Sherry Lust of Annandale, and Jeffrey of Willmar; mother-in-law- Aletha Winseth of Lamberton; brother-in-law- Steven Winseth of Windom; and sister-in-law- Bonnie (Charlie) Peterson of Lunenberg, MA. He was preceded in death by his parents; and half-brother- Leander Vogel.
