Elaine Joyce Helget

Elaine Joyce Helget of Sleepy Eye died May 17, 2022, at Divine Providence Community Home surrounded by her family. Elaine was born November 23, 1934, in Morgan, MN. She was the daughter of Emilie (Otto) and Julius Netzke. She attended country school and graduated from Morgan High School. On February 16, 1955, she was united in marriage to LaMonte Helget. Monte and Elaine were blessed with six children and they were the center of her life. Elaine enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, puzzles, Scrabble, double solitaire, scratch-offs and trips to Jackpot Junction. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, and her three daughters shopping, holiday baking and visiting at the kitchen table. Elaine held jobs at Haas Bakery, the Sales Barn and Sleepy Eye Hospital. While holding these jobs, she was well known for her baking talents, strong work ethic and her cheerful spirit. Elaine is survived by children Bradley Helget of Sleepy Eye, Debbie (Gary) Beltz of Olivia, Peggy (Mark) Seidl of Hanska, Doug (Rachel) Helget of Mankato and Cheryl (Terry) Reynolds of North Mankato, 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and her brother Ron (Becky) Netzke of Evan. She was preceded in death by her husband LaMonte, son Kevin, her parents, sister Pearl, and brother-in-law Ron Ellevold. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St Johns Lutheran Church and New Ulm Allina Hospice and/or Divine Providence Nursing Home.
