Elaine Davidson

Elaine Davidson passed away on Wednesday, May 03, 2017 at Pleasant View Good Samaritan Society in St. James. Elaine Vivian Romsdahl was born in St. James, MN, on June 10, 1921, the daughter of Joseph Nehamiah Romsdahl and Ida Cecila (Eckstrom) Romsdahl. Elaine grew up in St. James and graduated from St. James High School. She married Han Needham on Nov. 14, 1940 and they raised a family together. He preceded her in death. She then married Keith Davidson on Nov. 13, 2007 who also preceded her in death. Elaine worked for Watonwan County at the Register of Deeds office and the Clerk of Courts office, ST Industries, and for John Deere in Bloomington. She was an active member of Kansas Lake Lutheran Church where she served as ELCW President and Secretary, was on the committee to write a history book of the church, taught Sunday School for many years, participated in the Choir and founded the Choralier's. Music was a lifetime enjoyment for Elaine as well as flowers, photo albums, scrapbooks; and she was an avid scrabble player. Left to celebrate her life are her children: Ronald Needham of Prescott, AZ, Judith Needham of Mesa, AZ, Michael (Bobbie) Needham of Poplar, WI, Nanette (Mike) Northrup of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Gwen (Bob) Brown of Excelsior, MN, Phillip (Andrea) Needham of The Dalles, OR, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Kenneth (Judy) Romsdahl of St. James, Harold "Buddy" Romsdahl of Butterfield, Richard (Jane) Romsdahl of Denver, CO, and sister-in-law Lou Romsdahl of St. James. She is preceded in death by her two husbands, parents, brother Rollin Romsdahl, sisters Doris (Roy) Hanson, Adele (Gene) Umhoefer and a nephew Wayne Romsdahl.
