Eileen Rockvam

Eileen V. Rockvam was born January 30, 1924, in rural Olivia, MN to Sam and Mae (Leffelman) Brown. She attended Olivia Public School and was united in marriage to Milton Strey in 1949. Eileen lived in the Olivia and Bird Island area until moving to Sleepy Eye in 1956. She was married to Jerome Rocky Rockvam in 1956. Eileen worked at the Orchid Inn as a waitress until May of 1957 when she became Kitchen Coordinator and Head Cook, retiring in May of 2000. She enjoyed working and decorating at the Orchid Inn, and also enjoyed golfing, fishing, dancing, playing cards, and spending time at the lake. She is survived by sons- Barry and wife Joan of Redwood Falls, and Ron and wife Sylvia of Redwood Falls; grandchildren- Eric and wife Connie of Mankato and their child Lindsey, Dan of Mankato, Scott and wife Crystal of Buffalo and their child Bryne Miller, and Shari and husband Zane Meeks of Jackson, WY and their child Noel; and brother Clayton Brown of Bloomington. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands- Milton Strey and Jerome C. Rockvam; brothers- Earl, Bruce, Irvin, and Larry Brown; and sisters-in-law- Elaine McArthur, Helen Brown, Rita Brown, Lois Brown, and Alma Brown.
