Edwin Warling

Edwin Andre Warling was born November 7, 1911 at the farm home in Watonwan County, Minnesota. His parents were Carl and Anna (Hurtig) Warling. Edwin was baptized and confirmed at the East Sveadahl Lutheran Church and attended the glass block school. He married Mildred Askeland on December 20, 1935 which was Mildred's parent's 25th wedding anniversary. Mildred and Edwin farmed in the Godahl/LaSalle area until 1983, when Edwin retired. In 2004 they moved to Prairie View in St. James and in 2007 to Pleasant View Nursing Home. Edwin enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, playing cards, gardening and wintering in Arizona. He is survived by his sons Jon (Mary) Warling of Othello, WA, James (Margaret) Warling of St. James, daughter JoAnn (Richard) Stacio of Phoenix, AZ, 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, sister Ardis Hanson of Butterfield and sisters-in-law Evelyn Warling of St. James and Dorothy Warling of Butterfield. He was preceded in death by wife of 73 years, Mildred, parents, sisters Esther Wolner, Gladys Askeland and brother Rudolph, Enard and Arthur.
