Edwin Eytzen age 84, of Mountain Lake, MN died on April 16, 2016, at Good Samaritan Society - The Village in Mountain Lake, MN. Edwin John (Bud) Eytzen was born in Mountain Lake Minnesota to John and Susan Eytzen on April 30, 1931. He grew up on the Family Farm near Bingham Lake. He attended Country School through 8th grade. Due to his father's severe burn accident he was not able to attend high school. He helped out working on the Family farm during his high school years and was able to attend Bible School several winters. When Ed was a young boy he accepted Christ as his savior at Vacation Bible School. In 1956 Ed worked for two years in Denver Colorado in 1-W service. It was here where he met his dear wife, Nettie. They were married on December 17th 1957. He was very active in church where he was a part of the Men's Chorus and was a Sunday school teacher. He was also a deacon and church moderator for many years. He really enjoyed serving the lord which included serving as a Gideon. In the Gideon Ministry he held state and local offices as long as his health allowed it. It was a real blessing to serve together with his wife, Nettie in this ministry. He was also on the Mountain Lake shipping Association board as well as Church School Board and chairman of the Care and Share Board. Ed worked hard on the farm and enjoyed many special times with his family and went on trips to British Columbia Canada to see Nettie's family which made many special memories. In 1980 the farm was sold and Ed and Nettie moved to Delft Minnesota where they lived for 30 years. They were blessed with 58 years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Susan Eytzen and his son Gordon Jay Eytzen. He is survived by his beloved wife Nettie and five daughters: Carol (David) Jahnke, St Paul, MN, Marlene (Carl ) Kuhns, Omaha, NE, Susan (Russ) Rose, Circle Pines, MN, Shirl (Michael ) Trowbridge, Seville, OH, Virginia (Lloyd ) Entz, North Platte, NE; 22 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren siser,Lillian (Gene) Foth, Worthington, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
