Edwin Henry Rudolph Bud Brandt, the son of Henry Albert and Rosina (Mekosch) Brandt was born on August 20, 1922, in Jackson County, MN. He was raised on a farm in Kimball Township, Jackson County until the age of four. His family then moved to a farm in Selma Township, Cottonwood County, MN, where he lived and farmed until 1960. Bud was baptized on September 10, 1922 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball Township, and on April 14, 1935, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Salem LutheranChurch in Comfrey, MN. On April 28, 1943, Bud was united in marriage to Martha Heffele at the Lutheran Parsonage in Comfrey. In 1960, he moved his family to Mountain Lake, MN, where he was employed by Balzer Manufacturing until 1962, when he started employment at Land O' Lakes, where he worked as a truck driver until he retired in 1986. On November 1, 2002, Bud and Martha moved to the Laker Apartments in Mountain Lake. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, and he will be dearlymissed by his wife, children and grandchildren. Edwin Bud Brandt, age 82, of Mountain Lake, MN, died on Tuesday, October 19, 2004, at his home in Mountain Lake. Bud is survived by his wife, Martha Brandt of Mountain Lake, MN; a son, Larry and his wife Lynn Brandt of Mountain Lake, MN; three daughters, Ruth and her husband David Friesen of Colorado Springs, CO, Sandra and her husband Robert Paulson of Mountain Lake, MN, and Sharon and her husband Michael Raverty of Worthington, MN; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Hiebert LeVasseur of International Falls, MN; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by hisparents and a sister, Amanda Junker.
