Edward E. Helferich, age 73, of Butterfield, MN, died on July 2, 2010 at the St. James Medical Center. Edward Helferich was born on April 23, 1937 in Butterfield, MN, the son of Chester King Agnes Grant. Ed grew up and attended school in the Butterfield area. He served in the US Army for four years. On January 16, 1959 he was united in marriage to Judy Wegner in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Butterfield. Ed worked at Land O'Lakes for 13 years before purchasing and operating the Phillips 66 station in Butterfield for a number of years. He then became a truck driver for Butterfield Foods then Hager Trucking. Ed enjoyed traveling, fishing in his younger years, the outdoors, walking and spending time with his family, children and grandchildren. He was a life long member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife Judy Helferich of Butterfield, children Kim (Pete) Wentzlaff of Butterfield, Randy (Julia) Helferich of Sheridan, WY, Kevin (Marie) Helferich of Mt. Lake, Bryan (Carol) Helferich of Ranchester, WY, Lisa (Jay) Yeager of Billings, MT, Sue Ellen (Jim) Holmberg of Mt. Lake, Cindy (Jeremy) Kieso of Harrisburg, SD, sister Roxann (Gloyd) Wellman of Darfur, brother Duane (Adina) King of Butterfield, 28 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents Agnes Grant and Chester King and step-mother Sally King.
