Edna Krentz

Edna Dorothy Lydia Krentz was born December 12, 1923, in Sundown Township, Redwood County, the daughter of Edward and Minnie (Rosenau) Scholtz. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Springfield. On August 12, 1941, Edna was united in marriage to Vernis Krentz and the couple moved into Springfield in 1943. Edna worked at the Springfield Community Hospital as a nurse for 28 years and retired in 1985. A lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, she was also a member of the Rebekah Circle. Edna enjoyed making crafts, knitting, crocheting, gardening, traveling and camping. She also enjoyed dancing and fishing, and especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edna Krentz died Friday, June 24, 2005, at the Springfield Medical Center at the age of 81 years. Survivors include sons- Vernon and wife Diane Krentz of Hutchinson, MN and Darrell and wife Jan Krentz of North Oaks, MN; daughter- LeAnn and husband Lenny Booth of New Ulm; grandchildren- Suzanne and husband Kevin Bohnsack of Savage, MN, Troy and wife Kristy Booth of New Ulm, La Tasha Booth of Milwaukee, WI, and David Krentz of North Oaks; great-grandchildren- Brooke and Ben Bohnsack, and Jaydon, Taylor and Gavin Booth; and brother- Leonard and wife Audry Scholtz of Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband- Vernis in March of 1996; grandson- Jeremy Booth in May of 1997; and brother- Alfred Scholtz.
