Edna B. Eberhart age 101, of Madelia, MN, died on March 14, 2023, at Living Meadows at Luther in Madelia.
Service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church-Madelia, on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 11:00 am. Visitation will take place at the church one hour before the funeral.
The clergy will be Rev. Janet Adams. A private interment will be held in Good Thunder, Minnesota at later date.
Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home, Pilgrim Chapel in Madelia. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Edna Bertha (Tetzloff) Eberhart was born July 17,1921 to Rudolph and Molly (Heine) Tetzloff. She was baptized in Fieldon Church, and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran in New Ulm, MN. She attended school in Rapidan, and parochial and high school in New Ulm. She worked at the hospital in New Ulm and later at EF Johnson Co in Waseca. In 1942 she married Willis Eberhart and they farmed and raised their family near Garden City. Madelia has been her home for over 20 years.
Edna was dearly loved by her family. Some things she enjoyed in her long life were being active in church and community, gardening, sewing, cooking for her family, visiting over coffee, speaking German with anyone who knew the language, getting her daily exercise, caring for her grandchildren, and singing. She really enjoyed music, and continued singing her entire life. She also loved to dance.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Willis in l999; her parents; four sisters, Alma, Della, Myrtle, Mable, and a great-granddaughter, Angel Mycala Jenkins. She is survived by her sons, Roger (Kinney) Eberhart of Mankato, Wayne (Colleen) Eberhart of Amboy, Dan (Karla) Eberhart of Madelia; her daughter, Donna (David) Salsbery of Mankato; sixteen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.
