Edith Baumann

Edith Elizabeth Baumann was born May 14, 1923, in Lakefield, MN the daughter of Charlie and Bertha (Wallin) Anderson. She graduated from Storden High School and attended Teacher's College in Mankato for 2 years. Edith was united in marriage to John Baumann on April 19, 1947, in Lamberton. The couple lived and farmed in Highwater Township until 1968 when they moved to Edith's home farm. They moved into Lamberton in 1991. Edith was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, CCW, Red Hat Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She served as an officer of the Lamberton Senior Citizens, as an election judge, and volunteered at Valley View Manor. Edith was very active at St. Joseph's Catholic Church and their bible studies and enjoyed gardening, fishing, raising flowers, and especially enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren. Edith Baumann died Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Valley View Manor in Lamberton at the age of 88 years. She is survived by children- Diane Spross of St. Paul, John C. Baumann of Wanda, Paul Baumann of Odebolt, IA, Paulette (Gerard) Fischer of Springfield, Laurie Baumann of St. Paul, and Jennifer (James) Selfe of Lucan; grandchildren- Debra Walkinshaw, Jason Spross, Erika Nelson, Ted Fischer, Brian Fischer, Emily Nelson, Rebecca Nelson, Charlie Fischer, Nick Spross, Jonathan Spross, Michael Baumann, Niki Baumann, Brita Baumann, Serena Baumann, Madison Selfe, and MaKenzie Selfe; great-grandchildren- Taya Mitchel, Abigail Schauer, Katelyn Schauer, Tessa Walkinshaw, Brianne Baird, Karley Baird, Cody Jacobsen, Conner Jacobsen, Carson Jacobsen, Elizabeth Jacobsen, Taylor Crum, and Naunika Crum; and brother Leo Anderson of Redwood Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John in 2001; an infant son; daughter Sue Nelson; and sister Cinthra Cazett.
