Earl Dean Ray Meyer, the son of George and Elma Augusta (Gallas) Meyer was born on May 16, 1927, in Cedar Township, Martin County, MN. He lived in ruarl Fairmont, MN until 1942, when they moved to Truman, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1945. Earl entered the U.S. Navy on January 18, 1946, and served on the USS F.D. Roosevelt until his honorable discharge on November 17, 1947. He was united in marriage to Adeline Breitbarth in 1945, and upon his discharge from the Navy they made their home in Minneapolis, MN. He was employed by American Hoist and Derrick in the accounting department for many years. Earl moved to St. James in 1992, where he was a member of the American Legion Post #33. Earl is survived by a daughter, Carol; a son, Michael; and several grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Audrey and her husband Robert Schiller of St. James, MN; a sister-in-law, Shirley (Meyer) and her husband Nazario Cantu of Austin, TX; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stanley Meyer.
