Dwight Wayne Wiens was born September 15, 1950 to David Peter Wiens and Willie Doris Wiens. Dwight grew up in Mt. Lake, Minnesota with his parents and five siblings where he enjoyed time with his pets, fishing, model cars, tinkering with anything that could be fixed, and general mischief. In 1968 Dwight enlisted in the Army to serve his country. He served proudly in the 173rd Airborne Brigade as a Sergeant and led an in-combat stag team in Vietnam in 1969 - 1970. Following his return Dwight was blessed to once again find and receive the Lord into his heart. Shortly thereafter he met the love of his life, Joy (Wahlund) Wiens and they were married on August 29, 1976. Dwight and Joy lived in the rural St. James area, where Dwight worked as a mechanic, and the two of them raised three sons. After his retirement, Dwight enjoyed maintaining their 5-acre estate, meeting up with friends for coffee, and time spent with his seven grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Joy (Wahlund) Wiens, his sons and their families: Chad and Cassie (Lindell); Cody and Kaleena (Engelhardt); Chris and Bryna (Helle).
