Dorothy Warling, age 88, of Butterfield died on Friday, September 16, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System-St. James. Dorothy Larson was born April 8, 1923 at St. James, MN, to parents Nels and Emma (Goltz) Larson. She grew up and attended rural school in the St. James area. She helped out neighbors with house keeping and chores as a young lady. On April 2, 1943, Dorothy was united in marriage to Arthur Warling at Atlantic City, NJ, while Art was in the service. They returned to Minnesota and made their home in the St. James area. Dorothy worked at S-T Industries as an engraver. Dorothy was always taking care of others. She loved to bake, play cards, and collect Threshing Bee buttons. She enjoyed travelling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. She loved life and cherished her daughter, grandkids, and great-granddaughter. She will always remain in our hearts and she never forgot to dance. She is survived by her daughter, Mardelle (Marvin) Menk of Mankato, sister, Eunice Call of Stillwater, brothers, Lawrence Larry (Marge) Larson of Hoyt Lakes, Ivan (Mary) Larson of Hutchinson, grandchildren, Tanya (Stuart) Arends of Mankato, Holly (Mark) Menk-Anderson of Kimball, Eric Menk of Mankato, great-granddaughter, Mikayla Arends of Mankato, and a sister-in-law, Ardis Hanson of St. James. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
