Dorothy Johnson was born on March 7, 1930, and died July 29, 2024. She was the fifth of seven children born to Alma and Albert Pauling. Dorothy graduated from Lamberton High School in 1948. She went on a St. Patrick’s Day date with Robert Johnson in 1949, and they married on November 6, 1949. They shared a long and happy marriage raising their three daughters living most of the years in Lamberton, MN. Dorothy was a loving wife and mother. She took joy in keeping a nice home and was good at all things related to homemaking. She also enjoyed her work at the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Lamberton where she was employed for 23 years until she retired. After retirement, Dorothy and Bob wintered in Arizona for many years. Following Bob’s death, Dorothy moved to Riverview Cooperative in Springfield and continued to winter in Arizona spending her last winter celebrating her 90th birthday. She cherished her family, was grateful for her friends, and liked to make time for coffee, cards, conversation,Twins baseball, dancing, and challenging her grandchildren to a game of pool. Dorothy was a joyful and kind lady, and if you met her, you liked her.
She is missed by her children - Susan (Doug) Dehmlow, Janet (Dan) Miller, Becky (Michael) Boyle; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; siblings Vernon Pauling, Elaine Frank, and Roger Pauling. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnson; parents, Alma and Albert Pauling; siblings Arline Giersdorf, Marvin Pauling, and Delores Giersdorf.
She loved us well and was loved.
