Dorothy LaVonne Ahrenstorff, 91, of Saint James, died on May 10, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society in Saint James.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Saint Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Saint James with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Saint James. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Saint James. Online Condolences may be left for the family at www.sturmfh.com.
Dorothy was a gift of God, a daughter, born to Wilbur and Lorene "Polly" Marker on August 30, 1934. She was confirmed in faith at Saint Matthew's Ev. Lutheran Church in Butterfield, Minnesota.
Dorothy was united in Holy Matrimony to Harold Ahrenstorff on September 10, 1950, in Sherburn, Minnesota. Their marriage of 56 years was blessed by the Lord until Harold's passing on August 3, 2007.
The Lord blessed them with three sons, Doug (Colleen), Brad (Karen), and Curt (Jen); 6 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 14 step great grandchildren.
The couple made their home on the family farm in rural Butterfield until they moved to Saint James in 1989. Dorothy enjoyed camping, making quilts, and creating crafts, but most of all spending time with family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Colleen Ahrenstorff of Alexandria; sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Karen Ahrenstorff of Lake Crystal and Curt and Jen Ahrenstorff of Mankato; 6 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents; son, Doug; sisters, Donna Quade and Darlene Systma; brothers, Richard Haase and Raymond Marker; and friend, Don Heller.
