Dorothea Tomschin

Dorothea DeJean Tomschin was born May 25, 1927, in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of John and Ruby (Morrau) Miller. She graduated from Humboldt High School and then attended nursing school at Mounds Park and Midway Hospital. Dorthea received her Registered Nurses degree in 1948. On September 25, 1948 she was united in marriage to Clarence Tomschin in St. Paul. In 1951 the couple moved to a farm south of Springfield where they raised 3 children. In 1993 they moved to Springfield. Clarence and Dorothea were divorced in 1996. Dorothea had worked as a Registered Nurse in St. Paul and Springfield Hospital. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, active in circle, and WELCA. Dorothea enjoyed sewing, reading, watching T.V. and family visits. She moved to St. John Lutheran Home in November of 2009. Dorothea DeJean Tomschin died Monday, August 25, 2014, at the St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 87 years. Survivors include sons - Douglas and wife Amanda Tomschin of Clinton, MN, Steven and wife Marchell Tomschin of Wilsall, MT, and daughter - Lori Scheeler of Kingsman, AL; grandchildren - Adam Tomschin, Ashley (Mike Brabrant) Tomschin, Cassandra Jon) Becker, Logan Tomschin, Katlyn Tomschin and one great-grandchild - Grae Brabrant. She was preceded in death by her parents.
