Doris Turbes

Doris A. Turbes was born on November 18, 1928 in Springfield, the daughter of Anton and Bertha (Bauer) Macht. After graduating from Springfield High School, Doris attended and graduated from Mankato Commercial College and worked for various businesses in the Minneapolis area. She married Victor Turbes on August 21, 1954 at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. The couple farmed in the Springfield area until retiring to Maple Plain 19 years ago. After Victor's death in 2004, Doris moved to Orono Woods Apartments in Orono, MN where she had many wonderful friends. She was an avid reader of mysteries, a member of the Red Hat Society and the Church of St. George in Long Lake. Doris died on Sunday, November 20, 2005 at the Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park after a courageous battle with Cancer. She is survived by her children - Susan Turbes of Eden Prairie; Kathryn and husband Don Bosch and their daughter - Samantha of Plymouth; Connie Besse and son - Christopher of Lake Worth, FL; and Steven Turbes and his daughter - Amalie of Lenvig, Denmark. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband - Victor Turbes.
