Doris Margaret Kiecker was born on May 12, 1943 in Sleepy Eye, MN, the daughter of Alfred M. and Anna M. (Schmidt) Guhlke. She grew up in rural Springfield, MN and attended country school in Cobden and later graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1961. After graduation Doris was a secretary for Cargill. She married Reuben Kiecker on August 17, 1963 at St. Mary's Church in Sleepy Eye. After marriage she worked as a bookkeeper for P and K Hatchery, a baker at Casey's, a housekeeper at the Care Center and at Norwood for 10 years before retiring. Doris was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Christian Mothers. Her hobbies included fishing, bowling, sewing, crocheting, gardening, collecting dogs, volunteering at Nex-Tu-Nu, spending time with grandchildren and traveling with her sisters. She is survived by her children, Julie (Terry) Johnson of Brooklyn Park, Jean Kiecker (Randy Domeier) of New Ulm, Joan Kiecker of Sleepy Eye, Brian (Kristie) Kiecker of Lakeville, Bruce (Jami) Kiecker of Elko, Brenda Kiecker of Sleepy Eye, 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, siblings, Francis Schumacher of Sleepy Eye, Ruth Hoffman of Morgan, Dennis (Jeanette) Guhlke of Springfield and sister-in-law, Laura Kiecker of Fairfax. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Reuben in 1993 and sister, Bernice Sellner.
