Doris Johnson

Doris Ruth Peterson was born October 13, 1917 on the family farm near Spicer, MN. She grew up in the Spicer area where she attended country school. Doris was united in marriage to Siegfried Johnson on May 16, 1943 at her parent's home in Spicer. The couple made their home on the farm of Sig's parents where they farmed and later purchased. Doris worked at Butterfield Foods and Tony Downs for several years. She was active with the Butterfield Threshing Bee for more than 25 years where she hosted the Tuberg House. Doris was active with her church, Sunday school, Bible school and made over 1000 quilts. In her later years she had become a NASCAR and Winston Cup fan. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother. She is survived by her son, Winton Sam (Joanne) Johnson of Fairmont, daughter, Alice Moyer of Terril, IA, 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brother, Vernon Peterson of Spicer and niece Beverly Robertson of Max, MN.
