Doris Fritz

Doris Regina Peterson was born November 29, 1915, in Ida Grove, Iowa, to Marie (Hanson) Peterson and John Peterson. As a child, she moved to the Sleepy Eye area and attended school there. She married Alfred Peter Fritz on May 12, 1936. They lived their married life in and around the Sleepy Eye area. Doris was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and worked for several years at AJ Pietrus Produce and Del Monte. Doris was a great cook and also enjoyed playing cards (especially canasta and whist), crocheting, gardening and canning, helping other people and especially enjoyed laughing with friends and family. Doris is survived by two children, Marjorie (Fritz) Allen of Springfield, MN and Ralph Jon Fritz and wife Deb Fritz of Stillwater, MN; seven grandchildren: Carla Allen of Mankato, Kay husband Brad Schultz of St. Clair, Janeen Allen of Springfield, Bret Allen of Mankato, Shelly (Fritz) Crowley and husband Tom of Edina, MN; Jon Fritz of Stillwater, MN and Brad and wife Laura Fritz of Minneapolis and six great grandchildren. Ava and Shea Crowley of Edina, Allison Fritz of Minneapolis, Alexis Buehler of Springfield and Breanna Brandon Schultz of St. Clair. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Al Fritz in 1982 and her son-in-law, Lynn Allen in 1996 and 3 brothers and 1 sister.
