She was confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimball Township. She was united in marriage to Edwin Gohr on January 16, 1932 at her parents home in Kimball Township. The couple farmed in Jackson County for more than 40 years. In 1962, they moved to Mt. Lake where Dora worked for Eventide, Butterfield Foods and Fingerhut before her retirement.
