Donna Mae Johnson

Donna Mae Frances Manderfeld was born January 2, 1927 in Comfrey MN to the parents of John and Viola (Laux) Manderfeld. She attended school in Comfrey and graduated High School in 1944. During high school and until 1947 she worked at People State Bank of Comfrey. On December 28, 1946 she married Dale Giese. Dale and Donna Mae lived in Jeffers and owned and operated the City Cafe for 5 years. In November, 1963 the family moved to St. James. For several years until her retirement, Donna Mae worked at the Citizen's State Bank in St. James. Dale passed away October 12, 1977. On April 10, 1987 Donna Mae married Earl Johnson. Earl passed away July 5, 1990. Donna Mae enjoyed sewing, crafting, spending time with friends, traveling, church and her grandchildren. She was an active member of Catholic Daughters and the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, Curtis (LuAnn) Giese of Windom, Eunice Carlson of Mankato, Carol (Richard) Munson of Glasford IL, brother Delane (Merle) Manderfeld of Evanston WY, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, parents, infant brother Donald Manderfeld and infant grandson Derek Rettke.
