Donna Bielen

Donna M. Bielen was born November 12, 1919 in Sleepy Eye, MN to Robert and Margaret (Armstrong) Patterson. She was united in marriage to Ervin Bielen on May 8, 1941 in Sleepy Eye. After their marriage the couple moved to Springfield where Donna worked at Swanson's Studio, Tots to Teens, Adolphson's Dress Shop and Adolphson's Jewelry Store throughout the years. She was an active member of several volunteer organizations and served as president of the American Legion Auxiliary and American Legion Past Presidents. Donna also served on the board of St. John Lutheran Home and spent many hours volunteering at St. John Lutheran Home. She was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church, CCW, and enjoyed playing cards, cooking, and being with her family. She is survived by children- Suzanne Carr of New Ulm, and Diane (Bruce Bahneman) Bielen of Minneapolis; grandchildren- Kelli (Larry) Glaubitz of Mankato, David (Kelly) Carr of St. Peter, and Justin Westad of Chicago, IL; step-grandchildren- Chad (Bridget) Bahneman, and Rob (Molly) Bahneman of St. Louis Park; great-grandchildren- Chelsie (Mike) Gabiou, Aaron Glaubitz, Alex Glaubitz, Nathan Glaubitz, and Andrew (Libby) Carr; step-great-grandchildren- Annie, Liam, Tommy, Iris, and Jackson Bahneman; sister Annice Frovick of Pocatello, UT; sisters-in-law- Marrion Bielen, Avona Bielen, and Mary Jean Patterson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ervin in 1993; brothers- Harold, Kenneth, Bruce, and Bob Patterson; and sisters- Gladys Anderson, Mae Schroeder, and Lucille Schroeder.
