Donna Baune

Donna Marie Baune was born on October 21, 1933, in Sanborn, MN, the daughter of William and Monica (Schmitz) Hensch. She graduated from Sanborn High School in 1951 and was united in marriage to Elmer Baune on June 23, 1953 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Sanborn. The couple farmed and milked cows and Donna worked as a nurse's aid in Wabasso, Revere, and the Redwood Falls Hospital before working at Valley View Manor. She started at Valley View Manor upon the opening of the facility and worked there for 20 years. Donna was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lamberton, Christian Mothers, and the Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, reading, baking rolls, decorating cakes, and spending time with her grandchildren. Donna died on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at her home in Lamberton at the age of 80 years. She is survived by her husband - Elmer of Lamberton, children - Cathy (Keith) Anderson of St. Cloud and their children - Lindsay and Brian; Margie (Mike) Fraser of Tracy and their children - Andy, Eric, and Kyle; Bill (Mary) Baune of Slayton and their children - Jason, Steven, Christina (Vernon); and Judi (Bob Meyer) Durkin of Fairmount, ND; a great grandchild - Joshua; brother - Charles (Marilyn) Hensch of Sanborn; a brother-in-law - Don Steve of Sartell; and sisters-in-law - RosaDel Woelfel and Adeline (Kenneth) Sinclair both of Le Center, MN. She was preceded in death - parents; a sister - Evelyn Steve; a brother-in-law - Donald Woelfel; and a special family friend - David Geis.
