Donna Arndt

Donna (Moritz) Arndt was born March 2, 1932 in Redwood Falls, MN to Frank and Minnie (Schmidt) Moritz. She was baptized on April 3, 1932 and confirmed in May 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Donna attended District 53 and graduated from Redwood Falls High School. She married Eugene A. Arndt on August 16, 1953, and they lived in rural Springfield from 1956-present where she was a supportive wife and homemaker. Donna worked for the Smith Insurance Agency in Redwood from 1950-1956 and Miesen Color Center from 1982-2002. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, was active as a Sunday School and Bible school teacher, member of the Senior choir, Parish Education committee, and various other committees and boards. Donna was a charter member of the Mary Magdalene Circle and the Brookville Harmony Homemakers. She was active in the Springfield CommunityTheater/Nativity Pageant and Board, St. John's Home Auxiliary and Circle of Care volunteer. Her interests were as varied as the flowers in her garden. She found such joy in gardening, canning, sewing, volunteering, and yard work. She was a designer, whether it was clothing, drapery, floral bouquets or weddings, she used her God given talents where ever she was needed. She enjoyed socializing with friends and could always be seen with a smile on her face. Her greatest joy however was spending time with her daughters, "sons" and grandchildren. Many memories were made throughout the years as they enjoyed Donna's delicious snacks over Happy Hour. She is survived by daughters and sons in law, Michelle and Charlie Franklin, Tami and Joe Bockhold, Brenda and Tom Reiner, and Lisa and Greg Walsh. Grandchildren; Brittany Franklin (Adam and Logan Boyum), Kelli and Jake Gerads, AJ Bockhold, Katie and Cory Jakubek, Kyle Hillesheim (Laura Dunrud), Meghan, Patrick and Colin Walsh, great grandchild Landon Jakubek, brother and sister in law Stanley and Theresa Moritz, nieces and nephews and special friend Mark Hillesheim.
